My Chinchilla lanigera
I have three chinchillas. They are my precious, my babies. If you know me at all, I never get tired of talking about them, ever.
I'm a conservation biology major. And with just about every chances I get, I study them. For my animal senses class last year, I wrote a 10-page research essay on the chinchilla auditory senses. Last week, I did a presentation in my conservation biology class about why its population is critically endangered and how humans should act upon it.
These little fur balls are native to Chile. Its population has declined over 90% within the last 15 years. Now, let that sink in. Isn't it scary to think?
And why shouldn't human do anything about that? With great power comes great responsibilities. Humans are capable of destructions but more so, we are responsible in conserving and saving our earth.
Sorry. I got a bit carried away. My point is-- I love my chinchillas.
